The grind mechanims is smooth and consistent. The mill is easy to refill. It's light weight and looks good.

I'm a pepper connoisseur, at lease if you consider the quantity I consume.
I always take the lid off the shaker at the restaurants to be able to get enough.
A family member asked for a pepper grinder for Christmas, and I went in search for "the perfect gift". I searched many stores and tested their grinders. I found a large selection at a high end kitchen store, and a testing station, where they had many grinders out of the box a supply of pepper to try them out.
This grinder was the best I found, It came with a wood exterior or acrylic (easier to see when to refill), and the 6 grind levels were consistent and offered fine grind all the way to very course (my favorite). But the price was too high at the retailer for my pocketbook. I called my wife from the store and she looked this grinder up on the internet. Behold, Amazon.com had a much better price to boot.

I received a stainless steel version of this mill as a gift and had no receipt or proof of purchase. After about 6 months of satisfied use, the lower portion of the grinder began to separate slightly from the mill, and the peppercorns would no longer reach the grinder. I emailed Peugeot who had me return the mill to them, and 3 weeks later a new mill is on its way to me free of charge (save the return shipping cost). This is what consumers should expect of retailers, but you so often read of terrible customer and warranty service that I want to give them credit where due. 5 stars for Peugeot, 4 stars for the mill itself.
